Ukraine Adoption

Program Highlights

New applications are accepted by Ukraine's State Department for Adoption and Protection of Right of the Child (SDA). At this time, there no restrictions on the categories of children (age, health, gender) US citizens can adopt from Ukraine.
Ukraine introduced a quota system for the number of inter country adoptions. In 2007, US citizens will be able to adopt 558 Ukrainian orphans.

The inter country adoption process under the SDA has, basically remained unchanged. Parent receive access to information about adoptable children (referrals) only after they register with the SDA, receive an invitation from the SDA and traveled to Ukraine for an appointment.
