Lemessa's parents are deceased which caused him to live with his grandparents who have a very low income. He was then sent to the Kamashi Orphanage with his brother, Endalkachew.

Lemessa is in the first grade. His favorite color is yellow and he loves macaroni. He has a best friend close by in Kamashi, which makes him very happy. His favorite past time is playing football and he would love to be a driver when he grows up.

His overall health condition is excellent. His hearing and vision is normal. He has no physical disabilities.
